Honestly whenever I am in Benicassim, I am usually horizontal on the beach or eating my weight in food. I’ve captured some of my favorite things / things I’ve Googled. Enjoy!
Beaches
Platja in Valencian or Playa in Spanish, listed north to south
- Playa Voramar (blue flag beach): This is probably my favorite beach area since you are surrounded by the gorgeous villas, Hotel Voramar, and promenade.
- Playa Almadraba (blue flag beach): Located on the southern end of Voramar, this is another beautiful golden sandy beach. It also tends to be calmer here since it’s more protected from waves.

- Playa Torre San Vicente – Beach of the Tower of Saint Vicent (also called Torreon): Named after the Saint Vicent tower that sits behind it, you can find volleyball courts, sports competitions and movies played here sometimes on summer nights.
- Playa Heliópolis (blue flag beach): Close to Hotel Intur Orange, this is a large beach with a great cycling path and other activities (e.g., possible to hire boats there during the high season)

- Playa El Terrers: Close to Hotel Intur Orange, this beach has a youthful atmosphere since it’s so close to the youth hostel and sailing school. It is protected from the waves given its oval shape so it makes it great to do any water sports.
Attractions
- Torre de San Vicente: A 16th century tower, which is one of 18 watch towers that were built along the coast of the Castellón province to defend against pirate attacks back in the day.
- Desert de les Palmes (Desierto de las Palmas in Spanish, and Desert of Palms in English.) There are some great hiking trails and cycling. This is a mountain range that stretches across 5 different municipalities – Benicàssim, Castellón de la Plana, Borriol, La Pobla Tornesa and Cabanes.

- Castillo de Montornés: I wouldn’t go out of your way to see this, but if you are hiking, then I would keep an eye out. This castle / Arab fortress is (pretty badly destroyed) located in the Desert de les Palmes, with some amazing views over the Mediterranean sea and the plains of Castellón.
- La Ruta de las Villas: During the 19th / 20th century, some wealthy families from Valencia and Castello had these villas built along the beach. The Villa Route has two different paths based on the different properties and separated by the Comín Gardens. Route 1) Celestial Court: villas known for their tranquility vs Route 2) Hell route: villas known for their scandalous parties back in the day (I imagine Great Gatsby). The only villa that is not privately owned is Villa Elisa, which is sometimes opened to the public.
- Aquarama: Waterpark
- The Via Verde Green Route: This is an old railway that was transformed into a great trail for hiking, running, or cycling along the water.

Restaurants
- Calle Sant Tomás: This is the main street located in the town center where there are many bars and restaurants
- La Manduca: Great pizza and rice dishes; reservations are recommended
- Casa Teresa: My favorite place for “menu del dia”; reservations are recommended
- Restaurante Voramar: I haven’t eaten at the fancy restaurant, but I recommend the cafe for a snack or horchata since you are beachfront
- Restaurante Jotas Vistamar: One of the better touristy spots on the beach
- Restaurante Terraza Torreón: Another great beachfront restaurant where you can dine with a view
